Mountaineers HQ

Saltaire built the Mountaineers new headquarters in Seattle’s Magnusson Park. An adaptive reuse of the old Sand Point Naval Air Station fleet maintenance building, the project included a seismic retrofit. Saltaire constructed a new canopy from the beams and posts salvaged from the original building and built an exterior climbing area with retaining walls modified for bouldering, as well as crushed granite pathways and native plant landscaping. Interior spaces and finishes include sandblasted ceilings and beams, polished concrete floors, a granite fireplace, an interior climbing wall, meeting rooms, office space, restrooms and a kitchen.
