Leona

Located in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood, the Leona is a historical landmark which features both wood-frame and concrete construction . Saltaire renovated the original 100-year-old brick building and apartments into 15 condominium homes, adding two spectacular penthouses, as well as three new brick townhomes with a below-grade concrete structure and a post tensioned slab foundation. All of the homes were carefully designed to preserve and enhance the historical nature of the original building, painstakingly restoring the original brick and the pre-existing wood windows, while at the same time equipping the homes with modern-day amenities. Saltaire designed and built a new infrastructure for the building, which included a major seismic retrofit, a new structural steel armature concealed within the existing brick facade, and a new elevator that serves the parking garage, townhomes and flats.
